Walking in the Hebrides
Rugged mountains of the Hebrides
The walking in the Outer Hebrides is fantastic with everything from a quiet walk on the beaches of Uig, to the bird filled machairs of North Uist, from the rugged mountains of Harris to the wind swept cliffs of the Butt of Lewis. You should come and explore. It could be your last chance to see some of the most beautiful landscapes before they build windfarms all over them !

The Western Isles Tourist Board produce leaflets detailing some superb walks in different places around the islands. The walk leaflets are available from them at a cost of £0.50 each. You can also buy maps and books on the area from them.

Walking in the Hebrides - Roger RedfernA good book to buy is - Walking in the Hebrides by Roger Redfern - published by Cicerone in 1998. The book is available from Amazon here.

Adventure Hebrides provide walking and mountain guides in Harris and Lewis and you can contact Tim for details.
