There are several sailing organisations based in the Outer Hebrides:

The An Sulaire Trust are responsible for two classic sailing boats; An Sulaire and the Cuach. Both are traditional lug rigged boat of the style which here for fishing. It is possible to go for a sail on them visit their web site for details.

Sail Hebrides The Sail Hebrides Martime Festival has now been running for over eight years, see their web site for details of the festival. They run taster sessions and sailing challenges with the opportunity for everyone to join in the fun.

Uncrowded anchorages


There are boat trips out to the Outlying islands run by several companies:

Sea Trek Run trips on Lochlann to St Kilda and the Flannans

Kilda Cruises run trips to St Kilda from Leverburgh

The Enchanted Isle runs trips to St Kilda and The Shiants from Tarbert in Harris
